Create bootable Windows 8 USB flash drive [How to]

Windows 8 pre Beta developer preview edition was released last week (download link inside). If you have downloaded the Windows 8 pre Beta ISO file, now it’s time to get it installed. Before installing Windows 8 onto your hard drive partition or even on virtual machine tools, you need first to burn the ISO files on a DVD or perhaps better still, on a USB flash drive.

How to Create bootable Windows 8 USB flash drive?

1. Provided you have downloaded the ISO files, you now need to download Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool from here.

2. After that, plug in your USB pen drive and run Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool [from step 1].

3. Click next and select the USB. If you have already inserted the USB flash drive, it should be visible by now. If you don’t, it will ask you to plug in the USB drive. Hit the “Begin copying” button.

4. When you hit the button, it will start to format and copy files from ISO format onto the USB drive. It will take a few minutes to complete.

That’s it. Now you can install Windows 8 pre Beta from the bootable USB flash drive; so no more DVD and no more hassle.
